Edwin Camey, of the hamlet of Calverton, was taken into custody Thursday, Oct. 19, according to Southampton Town Police.
Investigators determined that Camey began sexually abusing the victim in October 2014, when the child was under the age of 11.
The alleged abuse continued for more than four years at homes in both Calverton and Flanders before finally ending in April 2019.
Police did not elaborate on the relationship between Camey and the alleged victim.
Camey is charged with course of sexual conduct against a child, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
